Schnauser

Schnauser

The Schnauser is considered to be a healthy breed but still it can have some health problems like bladder stones, diabetes and pancreatitis. This ailment is more rampant in middle-aged to senior dogs as compared to the younger ones.

Also no water or excess fluid should get in the Schnauser ears, and do not try to irrigate the ears.

Coat colors include salt and pepper, white, black or harsh black and silver outer coat with a soft undercoat. This breed tends to gain weight easily and should not be overfed.

The typical personality of this large dog is one of friendliness and willingness to work for people. The approximate adult size (two years old or older) of the male Giant Schnauser is 25 to 27 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 60 to 80 pounds and the female female ranges from 23 to 26 inches to the withers and 55 to 75 pounds.

  • Highly intelligent.
  • Easily trained.
  • Stick close to their human family.

The Giant Schnauser can be good with children if obtained since young and trained.

One of the biggest reasons to buy Miniature Schnausers is that the Miniature Schnauser does not shed its fur making it a great pet for people with allergies.
